LET’S DO SOMETHING!

Outraged Museums and Artists Unite in Protest of Smithsonian Censorship

I feel like this is a bad hangover from the 80’s and 90’s…we definitely need to hold our ground, write to everyone concerned, protest in the streets, but also, as artists, we need to react and respond with our work. My concern is that the work of the last couple of decades has been demonized by the RIGHT and we have started to self-censor. The issues haven’t gone away and we ares till faced with outrageous forms of discrimination. Not that art should illustrate, but in this case, I definitely think it should represent what’s happening around us…it’s time to say something with art again!
